Off-Campus Living

Luther College is a residential college; students should plan to live on campus for the entire time they are enrolled as a student. College policy states: All full-time students are required to live in college-owned housing unless married, 25 years of age by the first day of fall classes, or commuting from their legal guardians’ homes within 30 miles of campus.

Off-campus living is limited and is permitted only when there is a shortage of rooms in college residence halls. Students must receive written permission to live off campus. Ninth-semester seniors are automatically approved to live off-campus after notifying the Residence Life office of their intention. Students are also discouraged from signing leases with a landlord until they have received written permission to move off campus.
