Non-Auditioned Music Scholarships

Were you selected to an All-State Music Ensemble during high school?  Did you spend a summer at Lutheran Summer Music?  You can use these achievements to earn scholarship money at Luther College!  Read below for more information.

Did you know Luther College has the generous support of many donors who have created endowed scholarships for students who major in music? Recipients of these scholarships are selected by the faculty and the student financial aid office, and must meet the eligibility conditions specified for each scholarship.

All-State Music Scholarship

Value:
$4,000 over four years ($1,000 per year).

Selection Criteria:
Awards are given to students who auditioned and participated in their state’s high school (9-12 grade) all-state festival (or approved equivalent festival—domestic or international) for one year.

Application:
Complete Luther admission application.

Renewal:
Renewable up to 8 semesters of full-time enrollment providing that the student is maintaining satisfactory academic progress and is participating in a Luther College music ensemble. Students not planning to participate in a music ensemble at the collegiate level will be awarded a one-time $1,000 scholarship for their first year.

Notes:
Applicants do not need to major in music to be eligible for this scholarship. While a scholarship audition is not required, the Luther College music faculty encourage All-State Scholarship recipients to consider auditioning for a Weston Noble Music Scholarship before the annual deadline.
