FMEA has given me so many great opportunities to get involved and meet people! I’ve only been a member for one semester so far, but I’ve already learned so much from the events that they’ve hosted. FMEA gives a welcoming, positive, encouraging community to students
exploring music education as a career path, and is a group worth joining if you’re considering pursuing music education!
Ryan Hinderaker, ’25, Instrumental Music Education
FMEA has been such a great organization to participate in as a music education major. There are so many opportunities for professional development, networking with other music education students, and opportunities for leadership. Every music education major should get involved to better their experience at Luther College!
Erin Daniel, ’25, Vocal Music Education
Being a part of FMEA has been a wonderful experience that I highly recommend to all music education students. It provides an essential platform for aspiring music educators, like myself, to connect with others to discuss the importance of music education and how to be a well-rounded educator. We get to experience engaging workshops with professional teachers, funny performance and activity opportunities, and closer relationships with our colleagues that also study music. FMEA has given me a creative teaching outlet that has not only enhanced my academic journey, but has also added a very exciting and experiential dynamic to my full college experience.
