Students from Luther’s J-term course, Scandinavian Fine Handcraft, will demonstrate carving and exhibit their class projects in an open house in Vesterheim Commons. Led by established folk art instructor Fred Livesay, students learned traditional woodworking, including foraging for carving wood with a focus on invasive species and discarded landscaping materials. They also learned bandweaving from Jane Addams using heddle looms they carved themselves.
Everyone is invited to this free community event, and refreshments will be served.
