Anna Peterson, Ph.D. will present “Luther College and the Bethany Indian Mission, 1884-1955.”

The history of Luther College is entangled with the history of the Bethany Indian Mission and boarding school that was in operation in Wittenberg, Wisconsin from 1884-1955. This talk will explore these entanglements, including the founders, teachers, and alumni from Luther College that helped run the boarding school at Bethany, as well as discuss the experiences of students who attended Luther with help from the Mission in the 1940s and 1950s.
