Digging into Living Soil

In recognition of soil-focused research projects occurring in multiple Luther classes this fall, World Soil Day, and soon-to-be-announced partnerships, projects, and grants connecting Luther College, Northeast Iowa RC&D, Winneshiek County Soil and Water Conservation District, and NE Iowa Watershed Coordinators, the Luther and local community is invited to a soil-focused collaborative poster session ‘Digging into Living Soil’ from 2:15-3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 6 in the North atrium of Sampson Hoffland Laboratories. The event will showcase soil samples from NE Iowa along with projects and posters from the following classes: Soils (Laura Peterson), Movement Fundamentals III (Jane Hawley), Microbiology (Jodi Enos-Berlage), and GIS (Dawn Reding). Representatives from partner organizations will be present, with brief performances of ‘Dig’ occurring between 3:15 and 3:45 p.m., previewing Soul of Soil, coming May 2024.
