Transitioning Digital Services for Non-Graduates

Are you a graduating senior? You might want a different page .

Students lose access to most Luther digital services if they haven’t been enrolled at least a year and haven’t graduated—typically this because the student took an extended leave of absence, withdrew, transferred, was dismissed, or was otherwise not on-track to graduate. Most notably, the student loses access to their Luther Google account, including their @luther.edu email address.

If you think you’re likely to delay or end your Luther academic career without graduating, you’ll want to do a few things to make sure you have what you need before your access is disabled. Former students are still part of the Luther family and we want to help you through that transition and stay connected afterwards.

What services are offered to Former Students?

All former students have access to:

Students who are “alumni-qualified” also have access to the Online alumni directory. To be alumni-qualified, students must meet a minimum threshold of credits and terms attended. You should contact the Registrar’s Office to determine if you’re alumni-qualified. Typically, students who attend for longer than a year are alumni-qualified.

What services do I lose?

All other services, including:

Norse Apps (e.g. Google Email, Docs, etc.)
Norse Hub
KATIE
Microsoft Office 365 for Education
LinkedIn Learning

What do I need to do?

Update your contact information.
Migrate your Norse Apps content
Backup anything you have stored on Microsoft OneDrive

When does my access change?

At the soonest, you’ll lose access one year after the end of your most recent term or official withdrawal/dismissal date. In practice, some non-graduates will have their accounts slightly longer because of procedural timing.

What if I want to return?

When you re-enroll, your access is reinstated. If you believe you have some extenuating circumstance and believe you should retain access even after being unenrolled for a year, contact the Office of Student Engagement.
