Roth

Roth offers a unique living opportunity for Luther students who are involved in the nursing program, Rochester Semester Program, and student teachers and social work intern students based on availability.

Luther College leases three floors of Roth (Residences of Old Town Hall) for student housing. The building is located just minutes from downtown Rochester. The purpose of this housing option is to create an atmosphere similar to living in a residence hall, though embedded within Rochester. Rochester is a diverse and dynamic city that is a global medical destination where Luther students have the opportunity to gain valuable hands on training in a real world environment.

Residence Features

  • Each room has a private restroom/shower, microwave, small refrigerator, built-in closet, college owned furniture including a twin XL loft-able bed per resident, mattress, desk, desk chair, and dresser
  • Housing includes all utilities, WiFi, and parking
  • Controlled outside and individual floor key card access system
  • Each floor has a full kitchen, including a range, oven, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, cookware, large screen TV, table and chairs, whiteboard, and general cleaning supplies
  • Luther College printers on two floors
  • Ground floor large commercial kitchen for shared food preparation, group dining room, and TV lounge
  • Coin operated washers and dryers
  • Roth is served by Rochester Transit with a bus stop located directly across from the main door
  • Access to the nearest Skywalk entry point is just three blocks away from Roth
  • A lovely walking and biking trail is located just a block from Roth that runs throughout the city

Room Types

Roth offers three types of room options for students. The building has single rooms located in the interior hallway. A single room application process for nursing students is held in April of each year for housing the following fall. Roth also has interior double rooms and larger corner double rooms. A room draw process for double rooms for nursing majors is held in early May.

Summer Housing at Roth/SURF Research Program

Roth rooms are available for Luther students completing internships in Rochester during the summer months. Luther students can contact the Residence Life Office for more information or to reserve a space for summer.

During the summer months, Luther College works with the Mayo Undergraduate Research Program and subleases rooms to program students.
