Student Support Services
Luther College has been proud to host this federally funded TRIO program since 1973. Housed and administered at SASC, the SSS program serves up to 150 qualifying Luther students per academic year.
The mission of Student Support Services at Luther College is to serve as advocates for low-income, first generation, and students with disabilities while they pursue and complete a degree in higher education. Meant to meet the needs of traditionally under-represented and under-served populations, SSS services and activities include academic support, counseling and mentoring, and cultural enrichment activities.
The success of the project is measured by the retention, academic progress, and graduation rates of eligible participants and by the level at which Luther fosters an institutional climate supportive of the success of low-income, first generation, and disabled students.
Eligibility Guidelines
Services are free to a U.S. citizen or permanent resident who has been accepted for enrollment at Luther. Priority is given to the student who meets the low-income guideline in combination with the first generation or disabled guideline. An eligible student must demonstrate a need for academic support to successfully pursue a postsecondary educational program.
